On Mar 23 2019 at Winspear Center for Music took place wonderful evening
under the sign of Poland and its 100 anniversary of Independence.
The Karol Szymanowski’s violin concerto performed by Edmonton Symphony
Orchestra,Canadian Polish Congress and Polish Culture Society of Edmonton concluded
the celebration of this great celebration.
The Polish evening in Winspear was very Polish in every respect,
both organizations took care of many Polish accents in the Winspear area,
including an elegant reception in the Founders Lounge which Polonia
honored its presence very much with Polish members of the Symphony Orchestra
and the Winspear Directorate.
The Norwegian conductor of the orchestra Rune Bergman before the concert
announced that ESO can play Szymanowski like no other in the world
and no wonder because no other orchestra in the world has such violinists
as Tatiana Warszynska and Joanna Ciapka Sangster
and oboist Lidia Zabka.
It was a really beautiful Polish evening.
